The Parochial Church Council (PCC)
ST LAWRENCE CHURCH Registered Charity in England and Wales: 1170167
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the body of people which is responsible, together with the Vicar, for making certain decisions affecting the life of the parish. The matters that it discusses are wide-ranging and include the church's mission and outreach, financial and legal matters, buildings and property.
The purpose of the PCC is defined by the Church of England as "promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church". We aim to fulfil this by taking on responsibilities for the mission of the church in our parish, working together constructively to achieve this. The church has a number of teams who report back to the PCC in the areas of Buildings, Communications, Finance, Social events, Charitable Giving, Fundraising, and Worship.
Members of the PCC include priests in the parish, the readers, the church wardens, and a number of lay members of the congregation. Members must be on the electoral roll of the parish. The PCC of St Lawrence's currently has approximately 15 members.
