Information for Visitors

St Lawrence C of E Church is situated at the heart of Barnwood.

Our Parish Church dates back to Norman times. Its beautiful and atmospheric inner sanctum offers a quiet and relaxing environment in which to worship.

The impressive tower is early 16th century and the peals of its bells can be heard ringing through Barnwood and Abbeymead on a Sunday morning.

We offer a range of Church of England services, both traditional and more informal, and hope you will come and give us a visit.

Our Parish Centre was opened in 2001 offering a modern and spacious facility for the community. During very busy services, at Christmas for example, we may need to park pushchairs and buggies in the centre, rather than in the church, for everyone's safety. We are more than happy to hold babies, or help unload and park your pushchair or buggy for you, so that you can enjoy the service.

Our Coffee Shop takes place in the Church Centre on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, 10.00 -11.30am - all are welcome.

Both Church and Parish Centre are easily located, with on-street parking, on Church Lane in Barnwood (find us). Additional parking can also be found on Barnwood Avenue with a path through the Churchyard.
