Children, Families and Youth

The HUB Youth Group

We welcome children from Y6-Y9 to our monthly HUB sessions on a Sunday night (5.30 - 7.00pm) at the Church Centre or the Vicarage garden. From woodwork sessions, shelter- and fire- building to pond dipping, nature trails and fun games – we offer different activities, eat together, listen to a short talk and have a lot of fun. We average 16 youth per session and it doesn’t matter if you have been coming for four years or if it’s your first time! It’s easy to get stuck in.

Explore Creation

EXPLORE CREATION is a monthly, nature inspired session for children aged 2-11, with pre-school children accompanied by their parents/carers.  We meet at the Church Centre for a game and a Bible story, followed by a themed outdoor explore trail in the arboretum. We then return inside to finish our session with crafts and refreshments. We average 8-10 children plus adults and have been running a two-year programme including Explore Creation (six sessions based on the creation story in Genesis), Awesome Science (six sessions about stars and planets, rocks and fossils, dinosaurs, birds etc) and Explore God’s Story, journeying through the whole Bible in 12 sessions. We have a team of leaders and helpers who have been running this programme for over five years and still enjoy it very much! Do try it out.

Services and activities for families

On the first and third Sunday of each month, we offer two morning services: a traditional Holy Communion service at 9.45am, and a more informal Morning Worship for All Ages service at 11.15 am.

On the second Sunday of the month we have an 'All Together' Holy Communion service at 9.45am, with a blend of traditional and contemporary worship.

On the fourth Sunday families are invited to join in with Explore Creation (see above), which runs from 9.45am – 11.15am.
