Update on Stonework/Memorials
The Elizabeth Whitehead memorial has been taken down and the small parts are being gradually re-assembled and cleaned. The large box element is being remounted to the wall with heavy grade stainless steel brackets.
Following a recent survey of the church building, a number of serious problems were discovered regarding the safety of certain historical monuments. Following a period of consultation and significant fundraising, work has now commenced on repairing and restoring the affected monuments - starting in the Lady Chapel.
